The sun was alight
‘bove the shimmering fields
Of rays hitting virtuous sea.
With eyes of delight,
I boarded my freedom
And rescued who waited for me.

Together we’d row
Past the layers of ships
And further past boundaries of earth.
An Island we’d go
Where the beauty did fill
Any heart who could sail its surf.

With blessing of none
As we fled from the world,
Our judgement was our only guide.
To live on the run
From all envious souls,
The ocean was where we could hide.

Was it a mirage
As from mist did emerge,
A glistening, tropical beach?
Their months on the barge
Was a legend to tell,
Their legend – to no one they’d preach.
